People with Sleep Apnea can stop breathing as many as 30 times or more each night, which is a pretty terrifying thought and Dr. Sedaors can help treat your symptoms so you can sleep better at night. If you find yourself with any of the symptoms listed below as described on WebMD, contact our office to schedule an appointment:

  • Waking up with a very sore and/or dry throat
  • Loud snoring
  • Occasionally waking up with a choking or gasping sensation
  • Sleepiness or lack of energy during the day
  • Sleepiness while driving
  • Morning headaches
  • Restless sleep
  • Forgetfulness, mood changes
  • Recurrent awakenings or insomnia

It’s hard enough waking up every morning when your alarm goes off but it’s even worse when you have had a terrible night’s sleep. So seek treatment if you believe you are experiencing Sleep Apnea. It is not something to be taken lightly. The effects of untreated Sleep Apnea are high blood pressure, stroke, heart failure, diabetes, or depression.

There are several treatment options available. An initial treatment may consist of using a nasal CPAP machine that delivers pressurized oxygen through a nasal mask to limit obstruction at night. One of the surgical options is an uvulo-palato-pharyngo-plasty, which is performed in the back of the soft palate and throat. A similar procedure is sometimes done with the assistance of a laser and is called a laser assisted uvulo-palato-plasty. In other cases, a radio-frequency probe is utilized to tighten the soft palate. These procedures usually performed under light IV sedation in the office.

Stop the restless nights and those mornings where you just can’t drag yourself out of bed and call our office at (321) 610-7868 if you think you are experiencing Sleep Apnea in Melbourne, Florida.
