As your resource for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Melbourne, Florida our practice strives to keep our patients well informed. Though you may be aware of your need for oral surgery, you may not be familiar with what an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon is and what is required to become one.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are considered specialists and specialize in several areas including corrective jaw surgery, TMJ reconstruction, facial and oral tissue repair, head and neck diseases, dentoalveolar surgery, wisdom tooth removal, bone grafting, dental implants, and cosmetic surgery. In order to become an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, you must first graduate from dental school. Before graduating dental school, you must apply for an Oral Maxillofacial Surgery residency program. The residency alone requires four to seven years of intensive medical, clinical, and surgical training.
